EVA to LDPE
EVA - Ethylene vinyl acetate

EVA has low-temperature flexibility and is used in tough films and as a component of multiplayer
constructions for low-temperature heat sealing.

Fluoropolymers

Outstanding properties of fluorocarbon polymers (or fluoroplastics) include inertness to most
chemicals and resistance to high temperatures. Fluoro plastics have a rather waxy feel, extremely
low coefficients of friction, and excellent dielectric properties that are relatively insensitive to
temperature and power frequency.

PTFE - polytetrafluoroethylene is extremely heat-resistant and has outstanding chemical
resistance, being inert to most chemicals. Its coefficient of friction is lower than that of any other
plastic, and it can be used unlubricated.

PVDF - polyvinylidene is a tough fluoroplastic with high chemical resistance and weatherability. It is
self-extinguishing and has a high dielectric loss factor. A melt-processible plastic material, it is used
in seals and gaskets for chemical process equipment and in electrical insulation.

General purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) Plastics / Polystyrene (PS) Plastics

General purpose polystyrene is the low-cost member of the plastics family. Properties of the
amorphous polymer include hardness, rigidity, optical clarity, dimensional stability, and excellent
processibility.

HIPS - High-impact polystyrene, is generally recognized as the best styrenic material for load bearing
applications. Typical applications include food packaging (cups, lids, take-out containers), house
wares, office products, and video and audio cassettes. Ignition-resistant plastic grades are used in
radio and TV housings.

EPS - Expanded PolyStyrene, a rigid formed thermoplastic, suitable for shock absorbing packaging
as well as for insulation in building construction, based on its excellent shock resistance and
thermal insulation properties. Expandable polystyrene plsatic is supplied in the form of small beads
containing a chemical blowing agent. The beads are pre-expanded with steam to establish the
density of the finished product.

SAN - Acrylonitrile are copolymers that are transparent, amorphous materials with higher heat and
chemical resistance than crystal polystyrene plastic. SAN is injection molded into such products as
dishwasher-safe housewares, refrigerator shelves, medical devices, oven caps, connectors for PVC
tubing, and lenses.

SB - Styrene-Butadiene are block plastic copolymers that combine transparency and high impact
strength. Packaging is a major market in items such as cups, lids, trays, and clamshells for the
fast-food industry.

Liquid Crystal Polymers (LCP)

In the family of thermoplastic polyesters is the class of materials known as liquid
crystal polymers (LCPs), aromatic copolyesters with a tightly ordered structure
that is self-reinforcing. LCP's generally flow very well in processing, but they
have to be thoroughly dried and molded at high temperatures. They also exhibit
very high mechanical properties although molded structures tend to be quite
anisotropic. LCPs are resistant to most organic solvents and acids. They are
inherently flame-resistant and meet federal standards for aircraft interior use.

LCPs have found application in aviation, electronics (connectors, sockets, chip
carriers), automotive underhood parts, and chemical processing, and are used
to mold household cookware for conventional and microwave ovens.
